I ventured into Plehn's recently to get some cupcakes to celebrate my daughter's birthday with family, and Plehn's was just perfect for this. First, it celebrated its 100th birthday this year. How cool is that!?!? And it's clear when you step in that it has accumulated a wealth of baking expertise during that time. Its cases were FILLED with all manner of sweet treat, from cookies to cakes to pastries to bread to my aforementioned cupcakes. The air was sugar-filled and beckoning. Plehn's makes beautiful cupcakes with a flower design in icing on top. These were what I originally intended to buy, but they were a little outside of my budget at 6 for $19. Not complaining about that -- I imagine each cupcake takes time and skill to craft. So I looked for something else, and I found Christmas-themed cupcakes for much cheaper. And bonus: Each was topped with a plastic Christmas ring! These cupcakes were intended for several kids (and adult-like kids), so this was a great option. I purchased a dozen of these, and they stayed moist and delicious until we ate them a couple of days later. Don't sleep on this Louisville bakery mainstay. They definitely know how to make sweets that sweeten any day.

Louisville legendary donuts, cakes and pastries. Delicious and everything baked fresh. The dinner rolls are legendary. Have not tried their lunch but I hear it is also tasty. If you are a cheese danish fan grab a cheese kuchen for the house you wont regret it!!

Stopped in after an early dinner. Just peeled in the windows and couldn't help going in and purchasing the we didn't need. The store is clean and extremely bright and light inside. We were welcomed by multiple staff when we opened the door. You are immediately on heightened alert to the smells, colors and spectacular creations. The homemade cakes are beautifully decorated and reasonably priced. We took home snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies with smiley faces and thumbprint cookies. We will definitely be back to get a cake for a family

This place is amazing!! So much to offer and everything is incredibly delicious. The employees are very nice. They have some polish specific pastries which is always so fun to try!

Plehn's is my go to bakery in Louisville. I was in town for my birthday and The family got me a carrot cake. As always amazing. Just recently I call in from out of town and was able to order my daughter a meme-worthy "Nanalan" cake in vanilla with raspberry filling. It was adorable and delicious and apparently tasted even better the second day!! Best bakery in town! ** Plehn's sounds like "planes."

Our favorite bakery on this end of town, the oranges blossoms are the most perfect creation and I love them. Service is always fast and friendly... everything is fresh, and they sell out of a lot quickly. Place your orders the day before or morning of so you do not miss out. It's a very cute shop and the displays are always stunning. Have gotten several of my kids birthday cakes here, so so so tasty!! Chefs kiss hit em 5 times!!

I ordered a devils food chocolate cake with chocolate drip and a dozen of chocolate chips. The birthday girl was happy and said everything was delicious! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! The customer service was great and very thorough on order. I love that you can talk to a human :) check their schedule and keep that in consideration especially for a certain date.

What an amazing bakery!! It's 99 years old!!!! Amazing chocolate eclairs and delicious UK football cookies!! Our friend grew ip in PeWee Vally KY and took us here for the best chocolate eclair ever!! He stops in every time he's in town! Wow!!
